About Bright Future for Kids
Bright Future for Kids is a new Florida nonprofit — currently in formation — built on a simple observation: the research on helping struggling children already exists, but it sits in federal practice guides and journals that most parents never see. We translate it into plain language, organize it by grade, and give parents free tools to act on it.
What we do
- Grade-by-grade guides (PreK–12) covering learning difficulties and behavior challenges: what works, what schools do, what parents can do at home, and when to ask for an evaluation.
- A dedicated autism section built on the national evidence review — the 28 evidence-based practices, early intervention, school supports, and home strategies.
- Free practical tools: a daily practice builder, a CDC-based milestone checker, and a generator for the written evaluation request that starts a school's legal clock.
- Rights first. In the US, a great deal of help is free by law. Our job is to make sure parents know that before anyone sells them anything.
Where the content comes from
Our guides are built from a sourced research review of: the Institute of Education Sciences / What Works Clearinghouse practice guides; the CDC (developmental milestones, autism screening and treatment); the National Clearinghouse on Autism Evidence and Practice (NPDC/NCAEP, UNC Frank Porter Graham); the US Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs; the Center for Parent Information and Resources; and peer-reviewed meta-analyses (including the high-dosage tutoring and PCIT syntheses). Every guide page lists its sources. We do not invent statistics, and we name approaches with weak evidence honestly.
What we are not
We are not a medical, psychological, or legal service, and nothing here diagnoses a child or replaces an evaluation. The milestone checker is a screening aid, not a diagnosis. If you are concerned about a child, the free evaluation routes on our Rights page are the right next step.
Organization status
Bright Future for Kids is a Florida nonprofit organization in formation: incorporation, federal tax-exempt recognition, and Florida charitable-solicitation registration are in progress. Until registration is complete, we do not accept donations — see the Donate page. The website and all tools are free, and they will stay free.
